Down Home Ranch is a working farm and ranch, located on 410 acres in Elgin, Texas that offers social, educational, residential, and vocational opportunities to those with intellectual and developmental differences. These individuals work, attend, and/or reside at the ranch and are known as the Ranchers. Daily operations and events rely heavily on the support of community support and volunteer opportunities vary from providing handyman assistance, grounds upkeep, and technological support.
YAD members will be volunteering at the Down Home Ranch assisting in greenhouse/gardening maintenance and possibly some land clearing, depending on the needs as the volunteering date approaches.
Carpooling to the event is encouraged and an email will be sent out before the event to help coordinate.
