As stated in the Talmud (Rabbinic commentary), "Providing charity for poor and hungry people weighs as heavily as all the other commandments of the Torah combined."
Shalom Austin Feeds ATX was born out of a desire to address food accessibility needs in the Jewish community and beyond with dignity and compassion. It was developed to offer opportunities to volunteer time and resources to combat food insecurity in Austin.
The JFS Food Pantry services all communities throughout the Greater Austin area and relies on the support of the Shalom Austin volunteers and additional Jewish and other faith-based organizations in Austin.
